Therapy for Body Image & Self Worth

Stop Shrinking. Start Living

Welcome In

Welcome In

You’ve spent yers shrinking yourself physically, emotionally, and in every way. It’s time to take up some space.

You've spent your whole life being told your body is the problem — and somewhere along the way, you lost yourself in that story too. This is a space for folks who are exhausted by everything they were taught to believe about their body and their worth, who feel like they've tried everything and nothing has actually touched it, and who are finally ready to come back to themselves.

You’re in the right place if

Does any of this sound familiar?

(you don’t need to check every box!)

✔️ You think about food constantly and you're exhausted by it

✔️ Getting dressed in the morning can derail your whole day

✔️ You've tried every diet and felt like a failure every time, even though you know diets don't work

✔️ You're waiting until your body looks different to actually show up for your life

✔️ You have no idea what you actually want - you've spent so long doing what everyone else needed

✔️ The voice in your head is meaner to you than you'd ever be to anyone else

✔️ You don't feel "sick enough" to deserve help - but you're really struggling

✔️ You know what you value, you just have no idea how to actually live like it

✔️ You feel like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way and have no idea how to find her again

what we work on

Most of my clients are dealing with more than one thing at once -because body image, food stuff, self-worth, and anxiety don't show up in neat separate boxes. We work on all of it, together.

Body image

The mirror. The getting dressed. The beach you've been avoiding for three summers. We work on your relationship with your body — not on changing it.

Your relationship with food

Not "fixing" how you eat, but understanding why food takes up so much space. We untangle everything you were taught to believe about food and your body.

Coming back to yourself

The "who am I" question. The values you've lost touch with. The choices that never felt like yours. We figure out who you are when you're not shrinking yourself.

The inner critic

That voice that says you're too much, not enough, or just wrong. We get curious about where it came from and we turn down the volume.

Anxiety

The constant hum of dread. The overthinking. The way it shows up in your body before your brain even catches up. We work on that too.

Highly sensitive people

If you feel everything deeply and the world often feels like too much - that's not a flaw to fix. It's something to understand and work with.

Keri Baker, LCSW · Tampa, FL · Virtual in FL & VT

Hi, I’m Keri

I'm a licensed clinical social worker in Tampa, and I've spent my career working with folks who feel like they've fallen through the cracks - people who are really struggling but don't fit neatly into a box, who've been handed solutions that were never built for them, and who are done pretending they're fine.

My office is stocked with fidgets, snacks, and rainbows. It's cozy, eclectic, neurodivergent-friendly, and LGBTQIA+-affirming. There's no script you have to follow and no version of yourself you have to perform. You can just be exactly who you are.

I believe therapy should actually touch the thing — not just talk around it. And I believe you deserve support that was built for exactly who you are.

Therapy Services

Therapy for Disordered Eating

Disordered eating rarely lives in a vacuum — it's usually tangled up with body image, anxiety, and everything you were taught to believe about your body growing up. In our work together, we'll get to the root of it so you can finally exhale.

Anxiety Therapy

Therapy for anxiety isn't about eliminating every worried thought - it's about loosening anxiety's grip so it stops making decisions for you. We'll get to what's underneath it and build tools and insight that actually help.

Body Image Therapy

If getting dressed in the morning derails your whole mood, or you've been waiting to live your life until your body looks different, that's exactly what we work on here. You deserve to actually show up for your life in the body you have right now.

Intuitive Eating Therapy

If you've spent a lot of time dieting or your relationship with food is in a bad place, Intuitive eating therapy can help you figure out the what/where/when/how of eating again.

Self-Esteem Therapy

This isn't about repeating affirmations until you believe them - it's about getting curious about where all that self-doubt came from in the first place. We'll do the real work of untangling everything you were taught to believe about your worth.

Therapy Intensives

Sometimes an hour a week just isn't enough, and a therapy intensive gives us the time and space to actually get somewhere. Think of it as a deep dive into the work, designed for folks who are ready to make some true change.

You don’t have to do this alone!

This all sounds good, but now what?

Send me a message or grab a spot on my calendar. We'll hop on a free 15-minute call, I'll answer your questions, and we'll figure out if we're a good fit. No pressure, no commitment - just a conversation.

1. Schedule a free consult call

2. Show up

That's genuinely it. You don't need to have it figured out before you get here. You don't need to know what to say. You just have to show up — I'll take it from there.

3. Start to actually feel a change

Not "fixed." Not "healed" in some tidy, Instagram-worthy way. Just... lighter. Less at war with yourself. More able to make choices that actually feel like yours.

You don't have to hit rock bottom. You don't have to have a diagnosis. You just have to be tired of this running your life

That's the whole bar. That's it. If your body, your worth, or the voice in your head has been taking up way more space than you'd like, and you're ready to actually do something about it - this is the place.

I've got you.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Sessions are $200 for a 50-minute individual therapy session. Therapy intensives are priced differently depending on the length and format - reach out and we can talk through what makes sense for you!

  • I'm a private pay practice, which means I don't bill insurance directly. I know that's not the answer everyone wants — but it also means I'm not limited by what insurance decides your care should look like.

Superbills: I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Depending on your plan, you may be able to get a portion of the cost back. It's worth calling your insurance to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits, or check out my FAQ page to check your benefits

  • Yup! I have an in-person office in the Carrollwood area of North Tampa. It's cozy, eclectic, stocked with fidgets and snacks, and very much designed to feel like anything but a sterile waiting room. You're welcome here exactly as you are.

  • I do! I offer virtual sessions across the state of Florida and in Vermont. Whether you prefer to meet in person in Tampa or online from your couch (no judgment on the pajamas), we can make it work.

  • Totally okay! You don't need to know what you're doing to start. The first session is mostly just getting to know each other. I'll ask some questions, you can ask me anything you want, and we'll figure out together what you need. There's no script you have to follow.

  • I hear this a lot, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense. Not all therapy is the same, and not all therapists are the right fit for the specific stuff you're dealing with. I use approaches that are designed to get underneath the surface — IFS, Intuitive Eating, and Brainspotting — because sometimes talking about the thing just isn't enough. If past therapy felt like it was circling without landing, that's worth bringing up when we talk.

  • The first step is a free 15-minute consultation call. We'll get to know each other a little, you can ask whatever questions you have, and we'll see if we're a good fit. No pressure, no commitment. Book your free consult here →
